Parker, AZ - Two people were killed
and a third later died at the hospital
in a three-car collision on Tuesday,
Nov. 7, north of Quartzsite on State
Route 95. Brenda Joy Murphy, 66,
of Quartzsite, was killed when the
Chevrolet sedan she was traveling
in was struck by a white Ford sedan
that was traveling the wrong way
on State Route 95 at Milepost 119,
north of Quartzsite. Her husband
James Murphy died Nov. 11 from
his injuries. The Murphy's were
married on December 8, 2016.
According to authoriteis, the white
Mr. & Mrs. Murphy die in 3-car collision
Ford sedan was traveling northbound when the driver had medical issues
and crossed the center line, striking the rear of another Ford sedan, which
then rolled. The white Ford continued in the wrong direction and collided
with the Chevrolet sedan. The driver of the second Ford and the driver of
the Chevrolet were taken to area hospitals. The highway was closed for
several hours during the investigation and the clean-up. The accident is
under investigation.
