ALPHA GAMMA RHO 3 The Delta Messenger AGR achieves FouRth highest gPa oF PuRDue FRateRnities Delta Chapter Welcomes 30 New Members into the Brotherhood T he last few months have been a very exciting time for Delta Chapter. The spring semester was a great success by all measures and our fall semester has been off to a great start. The actives showed up after the summer away with a drive to take the chapter to the next level in a number of different aspects such as continuing a tradition of hosting recruitment events, excelling in membership development, performing exceptionally in academics, and revamping the way we communicate with our alumni base. AGR Maintains Strong Academics We finished the academic year in the spring with another great performance and our spring graduating seniors all went on to great professional opportunities. Our spring semester GPA was a 3.16 and our spring cumulative GPA was a 3.19, both great numbers and both ranked fourth among all Purdue fraternities and co-ops. We had 27 active members graduate this past May and these men have gone on to work in a variety of different companies across multiple industries. These companies include Hormel Foods, Monsanto, DuPont Pioneer, Schreiber Foods, Skanska, AgReliant Genetics, BASF, Archer Daniels Midland Company, and the Indiana Public Retirement System, as well as graduate programs at the University of Nebraska and Purdue University. We are very proud of all that these men will accomplish and we wish them the best in their professional development ahead. Internships This past summer, we had the highest number of internships obtained on record. Delta Chapter's professional internship footprint spread across a variety of different industries as brothers worked for companies in 13 different states. We are very excited for the variety of work that active brothers are seeking, which aside from personal development, helps grow the brand of Alpha Gamma Rho and shows the professionalism and innovative thinking that comes from an AGR graduate. New Initiate Member Class Since the start of school year, the undergraduates have been exceptionally busy. We kicked off the year by hosting another great fall recruitment, as we had over 60 young men attend our events and we were able to put together a new initiate class of 30 brothers. Our new initiates are eager to join the brotherhood and we are all very excited for the young leaders that they are striving to be. Hurt Memorial Scholarship Tradition Lastly, we would like to thank everyone who came to the house for Homecoming this year! It was a wonderful time of brotherhood and fellowship and we look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come. A special thanks goes to everyone on the Hurt Memorial Scholarship Committee for all their hard work to put together a wonderful scholarship in memory of a brother who gave his life for our country. The last few years, the committee has presented the scholarship at an event on the front lawn to a deserving brother before the Homecoming football game, and this tradition was continued again this year. The committee's dedication to "making better men" shows just how strong the bond of brotherhood is between brothers of all ages. It has been a very exciting few months here at Delta Chapter, and we look forward to the exciting future ahead.
