Phi Kappa Psi Ohio Delta Company 47 East 16th Avenue Columbus, OH 43201 Address Service Requested OHIO DELTA The Buckeye Phi Psi Let Us Hear from You! hare your personal, professional, and family news with us, and we'll print it in the alumni news section of The Buckeye Phi Psi! Are you planning a get-together or pledge class reunion? Let us know that as well. You don't need a special form; just jot down a few words about yourself and send to Phi Kappa Psi, Ohio Delta Company, 47 East 16th Ave., Columbus, OH 43201, or via e-mail to fahey252@gmail.com. We hope to hear from you soon! S Trustees have been asked to approve five building planning studies, including making the area west of 15th and High streets an arts district and the front door to The Enterprise. (First they close it and now they want to reopen it!) The cost for the planning studies is between $5-7 million, an estimate which only accounts for the architectural studies. The board has extended President Drake's contract through 2021, which calls for a base salary of $832K, a goals-based bonus of up to $208K (wanna bet he gets it?), a vehicle, financial planning, and social club membership benefits totaling $30K will be raised to $100K. Oh, plus $200K per year to a defined contribution retirement plan. Oh, plus five annual life insurance premiums of $463K (annual!) providing a tax- advantaged annuity and death benefit (plus a death benefit to the Enterprise) No mention was made of the home in Bexley. Former basketball coach Thad Matta's 2019-20 contract will be honored for $9 million. Matta was paid a longevity bonus of $625K in April and was terminated shortly after. Gene Smith, Senior Vice President and Wolfe Foundation Endowed Athletic Director, was quoted extensively. Assistant football coaches will make roughly $650K each in the upcoming year; Kevin Wilson will receive $750; Ryan Day $800K; Bill Davis $500K; and Greg Schiano $700K. Coach bonuses can be up to 25.5 percent and other benefits such as a $600/month car allowance (no Jeep Wrangler lease for us!) The university wants to buy the old Indianola Junior High School building. OSU is moving Cannon Drive to straighten and elevate it. This will protect the medical complex (the real heart of it all) from flooding, as it apparently keeps expanding in a flood plain. The construction will eliminate a mere 2,100 medical and football parking spaces! Enjoy those remote parking buses, everyone! The tax-deductible gifts can be structured in many ways and benefit the Fraternity's fine young men. Ben Nicol, CFRE, CEO (317) 275-3400. Chapter Eternal Frank Hall, D.D.S. '49 entered Chapter Eternal on September 28, 2017 at the age of 87. After completing OSU dental school in 1955, Frank entered the U.S. Army Dental Corps, serving at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz. He and his late wife, Priscilla "Pinky" Ward, an OSU Theta, are survived by their three children and seven grandchildren. A longtime trustee of The Ohio Delta Company, Frank was a member of Charity Newsies, Kiwanis, several historical societies, and regularly attended Friday lunch. He will be remembered as an admirable fellow and a fine fraternity brother. Funeral services for Frank will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, at First Community Church, where he ushered and was active in Couples Circle, along with his wife.
