S tewart '59 and John Horejsi '90 have given Pi Deuteron a five- year scholarship gift. New members for the next five years will be eligible for a $5,000 per year scholarship. To earn the scholarship, each new member must be among the top four freshmen in terms of GPA, and their GPA must exceed 3.2. The scholarships can continue into each student's sophomore, junior, and senior years, as long as they have a GPA higher than 3.2, or the Chapter average, if it, too, is above a 3.2. This program will add fuel to an already strong recruitment program. It will be a huge talking point, as Pi Deuteron strives to improve the qual- ity of new member classes. And, of course, it will provide incentive as Pi Deuteron attempts to be among the top five fraternities, academical- ly, at KU. Phi Gamma Delta is working toward the Cheney Cup, which requires strong performance scholastically. Thank you, Stewart and John, for providing the motivation that will, no doubt, play a huge role in improving our Chapter's GPA and recruiting efforts.
