ALPHA NU's Alpha Nu Chapter of Sigma Chi at The University of Texas H Fall 2017 Founded in 1884 A NEW HOME FOR ALPHA NU Over $1.6 MilliOn raised, $1.4 MilliOn reMaining tO COMplete prOjeCt S ince its construction in 1949, our beloved Chapter House at 2701 Nueces Street has been a staple of The University of Texas' Greek community and the home of generations of brothers. This house has stood as a testament of Alpha Nu's legacy for 70 years, housing countless leaders and fostering indelible friendships. Greek housing has undergone many changes on the UT campus with more and more chapters rebuilding their homes. To remain a top-notch home for our undergraduate brothers and competitive during recruitment, it is time for Alpha Nu to make a change. alpha nu...a traditiOn tO Build upOn Through careful planning and consideration, Alpha Nu alumni and undergraduate leadership have developed a solid plan to address the long- term viability of the Sigma Chi experience on the UT campus. In our detailed assessment, it has been determined that a new Chapter House is necessary and the best long-term financial decision to ensure Alpha Nu's legacy. We are excited to announce the Alpha Nu...A Tradition to Build Upon capital campaign. Our minimum goal to complete this project is $3 million, but $4 million places the chapter in a better position for the future. Working with Ed Eubanks '74 of Eubanks Group Architects, the Alpha Nu House Corporation has developed a tactical approach to our future. inside Our new Chapter hOuse This $9 million project will start a new era for Alpha Nu. Our new 51,900-square-foot facility on Nueces Street will not only provide a competitive edge for Sigma Chi, but will provide a home suited to the ever-changing needs of today's college student. Here are just a few of the features of the new facility: • Alumni room with grand fireplace • Apartment-style bedrooms, 36 with shared bathrooms and nine with individual bathrooms • Self-contained multipurpose area to host social events, athletics, Fight Night, and functions • Formal and informal study halls we need YOur suppOrt Alpha Nu's alumni leadership is ready to take on this vital project, but we cannot do it without you. Early commitments have raised $1,608,050. This is an impressive start, and now we need your assistance to complete this project. In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information on how you can be a part of this vital project. This is a time to reflect on your Sigma Chi experience. Remember the impact this brotherhood has had on you and imagine how this Chapter will affect future brothers. Alpha Nu has given each of us an unforgettable experience; it is our duty to honor our membership and invest in the future of Sigma Chi at UT.
