Delta is and always has been a big part of my life.
I have been active in many other organizations,
but the things I learned while in Sigma Omicron
have been the most impactful in my life. Times
change but respect and concern for others
remains and Kappa Delta taught me those
things." One of the strongest pieces of advice
Harriet can give to active members and recent
graduates is to stay connected with Kappa Delta.
As the years have passed Harriet has remained
involved with Kappa Delta alumnae groups and
is happy to have that bond. "Wherever you go,
you will undoubtedly find a Kappa Delta sister
and somehow there is an instant connection. You
have something in common." For over 50 years,
Harriet has been involved in a dinner group of
sisters whom all come from different chapters
but their relationship is like family.
At the recent gathering and groundbreaking
for the new chapter house, Harriet met the
present officers of Sigma Omicron. "They are
a vivacious and poised group of young ladies
and I share their enthusiasm for the new house."
While Harriet admits to having many loving
memories of the house at 1204 South Lincoln,
she knows that the new house and location
will be just as memorable to a new generation
of Sigma Omicrons and reminds us, "Kappa
Delta is really not a place but a loving bond of
sisterhood for life."
