CityView Magazine Food & Wine Party Cape Fear Botanical Garden Join us, the staff at CityView Magazine, as we celebrate our ever-popular Octo- ber Food & Wine special issue – which you're reading right now! This is a fun event featuring music, dancing, small bites from local restaurants and com- plimentary drinks. Money raised from the event will be donated to a local charity. OCTOBER 13-15 Indigo Moon Film Festival Downtown Fayetteville More than 45 independent films will be screened during this three-day festival at four sites that are within easy walk- ing distance of each other. There's a huge variety of films with a wide range of stories and topics. The festival leads off Friday night with the North Carolina premiere of "Hondros," a documentary about the late Chris Hondros, a Fayette- ville native and award-winning photo- journalist who was killed in 2011 while covering fighting in Libya. The rest of the films will be showed Saturday. On Sun- day, the festival will announce its win- ners, then rescreen the winning films. Pinwheel Masquerade Ball & Auction The Metropolitan Room This is your chance to be a masked hero – or heroine – and to have a great time while you're at it. This elegant evening features culinary delicacies, live and silent auctions, music and mask contests. Proceeds go to the Child Advocacy Center which works to protect children and stop child abuse. Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra Huff Concert Hall at Methodist University This family-friendly concert will be rat- ed Arrr – for pirates. The symphony will be performing Wagner's Overture to the Flying Dutchman, music from "Hook" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" and more.
