One hundred students representing 52 universities and 200 alumni donors to the FSPAC were informed and entertained by the remarks given by 25 members of Congress. It was a night that, as tradition has it, did not disappoint. Members of Congress who left Capitol Hill to attend the FSPAC reception and dinner arrived with enthusiasm and eagerness to be heard. After a brief introduction by FSPAC Executive Director Kevin O'Neill, ΛΧΑ, each member took the microphone to express thanks to the FSPAC for support given and leadership shown in Washington, D.C. Political camps do not matter at the FSPAC dinner; what matters is that fraternity brothers and sorority sisters come together and express their gratitude for the undergraduate experience they had that set them on their way to public service. Testimonials, funny stories, and inspirational "calls to action" were in abundance. Special recognition went to Bill Dreyer, KA Order, Cheri De Jong, ΣΚ, and Donald De Jong, ΑΓΡ, Ned Kirklin, ΚΣ, and Kevin O'Neill, ΛΧΑ, and Patty O'Neill, ΑΔΠ, for their lifetime contributions to the FSPAC of more than $50,000. In addition, Scott Noble, ΦΚΨ, and Cindy Stellhorn, ΚΑΘ, and Jeff Stellhorn, ΣΦΕ, were recognized for their lifetime contributions of $100,000. It is dedicated donors like these who have helped the FSPAC achieve results that advance the sorority and fraternity experience. Recognition of FSPAC milestones included 934 total donors so far for 2017; a 34 percent increase from 2016 and $524,435 raised in cash and future pledges toward the $700,000 2017-2018 cycle goal. It was a very exciting night for sororities and fraternities and the donors who made those numbers happen.
