You are here! This fall visitors will see new signs in many of our open space preserves. These signs will help people map their journeys and stay safe on open space roads and trails. The signs will also encourage people to be mindful of the sensitive natural resources in Marin County preserves. Marin County's 250 miles of open space roads and trails were originally built for logging and ranch access, or developed from public use, without con- sidering environmental impact. Nearly half a century after those first roads were cut, people across Marin now place a high priority on protecting and pre- serving the amazingly beautiful wildlands that surround neigh- borhoods from Novato to Mill Valley to Bolinas. These new welcome maps, notice boards, and wayfinding posts are funded by Measure A. The signs will help Marin open spaces stay beautiful, sustain- able, and accessible for the people enjoying them today, as well as future generations.
