October 6th Worldwide Day of Play Mayor Stan Anthony is proclaiming Saturday, October 6 as Day of Play in Shelby. This is in conjunction with Nickelodeon's World- wide Day of Play. Join others at Shelby City Park from 1:00pm until 6:00pm for Free Carrousel and Train Rides Kid's Infl atable Rides & Playgrounds and Walking Tracks October 25th – 27th Talking Pumpkin and Spooky Train The Talking Pumpkin and the Spooky Train will return to the Car- rousel and Rotary for 3 nights of fun and thrills. October 27th Hog Happening 5K Race Hog Happening's 5K Race will begin and end at the Shelby City Park. October 28th Greater Cleveland County Baptist Associations "Greatest Treat Festival" Join us at the Shelby City Park for free food, games, infl atable kids rides and the county's largest trunk or treat. Hours are from 4PM til 6PM. UPCOMING EVENTS November 15th Southern Christmas Show with Shelby City Park A Trip to the Southern Christmas Show leaves the City Park at 8:30AM and leaves the Show at 4:00PM. Cost is $24.00 which in- cludes transportation and cost of the ticket. Deadline to sign-up is Friday, November 9th. December 8th Santa at the Carrousel Pictures with Santa at the Carrousel has been scheduled for Satur- day, December 8th. December 8th Christmas Party with Santa Free Carrousel & Train rides and a chance to visit with Santa from 1:00PM til 4:00PM in the Carrousel. Admission will be a can of food to be donated to a local Food Closet. December 8th Lighting of the Christmas Tree at Shelby City Park Carousel Shelby Parks & Recreation will kick off the Christmas Holiday Sea- son at the Park with the lighting of their Christmas Tree at the Car- ousel. Refreshments, Christmas Caroling and Santa will be there to.Festivities will begin at 6:00PM. More details will follow. December 22nd A Christmas Heart A moving Christian Play will be presented in the Shelby Parks & Recreation Gym on Saturday, December 22nd. February 23rd Donald McCluney's 33rd Annual Mid-Cleve- land Karate Championships Registration begins at 8:00AM with competitions to begin at 9:00AM in the Shelby City Park Gymnasium.
