Vendor breakfast scheduled for Jan. 7 The RV, Swapmeet and Vendor Volunteer Board will be hosting a Free Vendor Breakfast scheduled for Monday, January 7th at 7am at the Quartzsite Improvement Associa- tion (QIA). Theodore "Ted" Martin King, 81, Theodore "Ted" Martin King, 81, died September 5, 2012 at Good Samari- tan Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz. His wife, Lucy, was at his side when he passed away. He was a longtime Dufur, Ore., resident who spent the past several years living as a snowbird in Quartzsite, Ariz. He was born Oct. 26, 1930, in Long Beach, Calif., to Edward Morgan King and Isabella "Louise" Steinhoff King. He was raised and educated in Yakima, Wash. During this time in his life he developed a love for nature and camping thanks in part to his stepfa- ther George "Bud" Headly. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean confl ict and was honorably discharged Oct. 1, 1952. He met and married his fi rst wife Mary Maxine Mingus and after starting their family they relocated in 1963 to Dufur and resided there for 40 years. After becoming a widower, Ted married his second wife, Dorthea Lewis, who tragically died in an auto- mobile accident. He then moved per- manently to Quartzsite, Ariz., where he met and married Lucy Ferroggiaro. He is survived by his wife Lucy King; daughter, Teddie Hodges, The Dalles, Ore.; son, Timothy King, Portland, Ore.; daughter, Theresa Havner, Yaki- ma, Wash.; his step-daughters, Mary VanNatta, Vancouver, Wash., Janet Millard, Milwaukie, Ore.; Georgina King, Vancouver; and Carolyn Har- vey, McCleary, Wash.; and numerous grandchildren and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by both parents, his sisters Dolores Vander- pool and Sandra Betts; his wives Mary and Dorthea; sons Todd Matthew King and George W. "Bud" King; step- son Douglas F. King, step-daughter Norma Dreke. A graveside ceremony was held Saturday, Sept. 15th at the Dufur Cemetery with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements. In lieu of fl owers, me- morials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Kermet Ray Hines Kermet Ray Hines, a longtime resi- dent of Quartzsite passed away on Au- gust 31, 2012 while in the hospital. He was to be 79 years old in October. He is survived by his daughter, Glenda, of Quartzsite, son and daughter-in- law of Ventura, Calif., 2 grandchil- dren and 2 great grandchildren and many friends from all over. He will be missed dearly. Services were held in his home town of Ventura, Calif. on Sept. 14, 2012. September 19, 2012 In Memoriam Vicky Fuhrman Melton March 10, 1951 - September 12, 2012 Vicky Fuhrman Melton passed away on Septmeber 12th, 2012 with family by her side. She was born and raised in Blythe, Calif. She was a loving & caring mom, daughter, sister, aunt, grandma, & great grandma. She is preceded in death by her son Kevin Roy Norris, and her mom Jackie Lee Fuhrman. She is survived by her dad Glenn Fuhrman, sister Shirley Garcia, & brother Tommy Fuhrman, her two children Paul & Michele Norris of Quartzsite, Ariz., four nieces all from Blythe, Calif., as well as six grandkids and two great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all. Funeral Services will take place at Frye Chapel in Blythe, CA On Friday September 21, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Frye Chapel in Blythe, Calif.
