After graduating with a mechanical engineering degree, Jim worked for Ryerson Steel Company for 36 years, first in St. Louis, then Houston, and finally Kansas City, before retiring in 1987. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Thelma, in 2013. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Alumni News______________________________________________ Nick Alonge '64 is retired and living lakeside in Terre Haute, Ind., with his wife, Linda. He enjoys his life in Terre Haute but wishes it wasn't as far from his five kids and nine grandchildren. E-mail: indeannanick@gmail.com Bernard "Bernie" Ebert '64 is enjoying retirement in The Hills, Texas, with his wife, Nancy. He retired from Shell with over 34 years of service in October 1999. At that time, Bernie moved to Austin and took an administrative position at the University of Texas-Austin. He retired from the university in May 2013. E-mail:bcebert@autstin.rr.com Tony Houdyshell '94 is a hazardous materials officer for the Canadian Pacific Railroad in Big Bend, Wis. He manages systemwide hazmat events, including derailments. In his position, he works with the regulatory groups and first responders to ensure proper preparedness procedures are in place. Tony says, "We have to be ready just in case anything were to happen." In his free time, he hangs out with his wife, Jennifer, and two children, Jared (16) and Aiden (8).
