Working closely with the pa- tient's doctor, Washington Regional Home Health develops an individual- ized care plan that can include: • A comprehensive assessment of patient's needs • Education about patient's condition and suggestions to prevent more serious issues • Disease management • Nutrition education • Home safety evaluations • Monitoring vital signs; managing medications • Wound care and intravenous medication administration The Washington Regional Home Health staff includes more than 40 healthcare professionals, including: • Registered nurses • Physical therapists • Occupational therapists • Speech pathologists • Medical social workers In addition, Washington Regional Home Health aides are available to as- sist with activities of daily living, per- sonal care, bathing and catheter care. Washington Regional Home Health services can be obtained through an order from the patient's physician and are available throughout Washington, Benton, Carroll and Madison counties. The patient need not have received pri- or care at a Washington Regional clinic or facility. Washington Regional Home Health is a Medicare and Medicaid cer- tifi ed home health service, and is a pro- vider for most health insurance plans. Stewart, an occupa- tional therapist at Washington Re- gional Medical Center, recently was selected to present her research at the 2017 American Occupational Thera- py Association national conference in Philadelphia. Titled "Barriers to Reentry into Society: Listening to Parolees' Per- spectives," Stewart's research ex- plores ways occupational therapy can help parolees make a successful tran- sition back into their communities. Before earning her master's de- gree in occupational therapy from the University of Central Arkansas, Stew- art graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
