Page 6 Tuesday, August 21, 2012 APS de- livered a much needed 2005 Ford Escape XLT 4-door Sport Utility Vehicle to Quartzsite Food Bank. Coordinator Carol Kelley said, "This makes it possible to deliver more to our shut-ins and those with no trans- portation, plus the shopping trips and food pick-up that we were doing in our private vehicles." Kelley said, "God Blessed us today, with extra food from the Yuma food bank, then we got our SUV, and one hour later the Ladies from the Luth- ern Church brought us more food." La Paz County Supervisors John Drum and Holly Irwin who was instrumental in reviving the Quartz- site Food Bank, delivered the keys of the new car to Carol Kelley. The new vehicle was immediately put to use, delivering food boxes to Senior Apart- ments on the other side of town. www.DesertMessenger.com APS donates car to Quartzsite Food Bank The Mission of the La Paz County Food Banks is to relieve hunger, in- crease self- reliance, and improve the quality of life for children and families throughout La Paz County.
