The bus will still be going to Parker every Thursday. www.DesertMessenger.com In Memoriam September 5, 2012 Fowler, Donna Dae William "Tonto" Blake May 8, 1955 – July 6, 2012 William "Tonto" Blake, a dear friend to many in Quartzsite, passed away after a lengthy illness on July 6, 2012. "Tonto" was a happy and most com- passionate soul who brought laugh- ter and comfort to all he met. Even during his own illness, he was the fi rst to help anyone in need. He is greatly missed by friends and family. For ever will his bright and gentle spirit live on in our hearts. There must be a minimum of 5 pas- sengers in order for QTS to make the trip. You must make a reservation no more than 48 hours in advance of the day of the trip. Pick up will begin at 8:30am with an anticipated return to Town of Quartzsite by 5pm. If there is a 5th Wednesday, the transit van will stay in town. Drivers are Town Employees and are not permitted to accept tips. TOPS in Quartzsite thru the summer Read Desert MESSENGER ONLINE @ Ethan Martin The grandson of Quartzsite residents, Harvey & Gail Martin, SPC Ethan Martin, 22, was killed in Koragay, Af- ghanistan August 7, 2012 while serv- ing in the Army. Ethan was born in Sandpoint, Idaho December 30, 1989 and raised in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He was buried at the Paradise Valley Cemetery in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on Saturday August 18, 2012. Ethan was promoted posthumously to Corporal, awarded a purple heart, a bronze star and a distinguished service medal. Ethan is survived by his parents, Harv Martin of Bonners Ferry, Idaho and Kristi Suprenant of Lewiston, Idaho, his sister, Nichelle Gau, of Sandpoint, Idaho and numerous rela- tives in Idaho and Arizona. Martin joined the Army in 2009. He was assigned to 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Com- bat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Joint Base Elmendorf-Rich- ardson, Alaska. Donations to help his parents with funeral expenses may be made to the Ethan Martin Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo bank. Donna Dae Fowler, 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at her home in Bosque, NM. She was born in Fort Casey, WA on January 28, 1940 to Denzil L. and Margaret M. (Miller) Dunn. Donna enjoyed painting with oils and she loved to bake. At one time she had her own bakery and taught baking. Donna and her husband, Mar- vin owned Donna Dae's Crafts store in Quartsite, AZ for twenty fi ve years. Donna is survived by her loving hus- band of 54 years, Marvin Fowler; her sons, Marvin D. Fowler and wife, Lynn; and Mark L. Fowler and wife, Dawna; step-daughters, Melinda Chernev and husband, Alan; and Laura Plank and husband, Donald; her brothers, Den- zil Dunn and wife, Gloria; and David Barnes and wife, Kathy; her loving grandchildren, Max, Tera-Dawn, and Carrie Plank; Justin, Garrett, and Bran- don Hughes; Devin Reedy; and Aus- tin, Alissa, Angelic, Amberly, and Arin Fowler; Donna also enjoyed sixteen great grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Daniels Family Funeral Services Chapel, 309 Garfi eld, Socorro, NM with Rev. Marvin D. Fowler offi ciating.
