The chapter's flag football team won second place last fall. The spring semester is buzzing with activity at 238 E. Maxwell and we can't wait for our hard work to pay off! Last fall, Beta Chi had 76 members earn a 4.0 GPA and 49 members with GPAs between 3.7 and 3.99. Of the 15 chapters on campus, we ranked fourth overall with a 3.44 GPA—above the Panhellenic average of 3.36. ContinuEd PhilAnthRoPiC SuCCESS Beta Chi raised $21,139 for the University of Kentucky's student-run fundraiser, DanceBlue. We were so proud to have 39 of our members dancing for 24 hours on February 25. Additionally, we purchased 800 books for the children at Tates Creek Elementary and held our annual RIF event at the school on March 2. Each child at the school was able to choose their own book to keep and take home. For some, this is their first book ever! It's amazing to see what all our hard work goes to in the end. Dana Thomas, a proud Tates Creek Elementary parent, reached out the Kappa Kappa Gamma Headquarters after the event, saying, "My kids were so excited to participate in the program for the second year in a row and I am so grateful that ΚΚΓ takes the time to invest in children's literacy. Quality education is the foundation of our society and the development of good reading skills is the cornerstone of a successful academic career. Thank you for supporting our kids!" In March, we also held our third GIRLS Academy at Bryan Station Middle School. Throughout the last three years, our members have maintained a relationship with the school by having lunch with the girls every other Friday. GIRLS Academy is an exciting event we love hosting for the young girls in Lexington. On April 2, we hosted our third annual Kappa Bowl with Kappa Alpha Order. This is Beta Chi's most popular philanthropy event where Greek and non-Greek organizations come together for a bubble ball soccer tournament. This year, the event raised more than $4,500 for RIF. on-CAmPuS involvEmEnt Beta Chi sisters continue to thrive in on-campus involvement.
