WHAT'S INSIDE Case of the missing egg | S RAIN G-B Gigi holds up the Silver Egg ticket with siblings Nonie and Nico celebrating her win Gigi holds up the Silver Egg Zander was excited when he found the Gold Egg Shanana Rain Golden-Bear Over 100 kids, from toddlers to tweens, participated in the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Quartzsite Town Park. Hosted by the Town of Quartzsite and Parks Board, kids searched for colorful eggs early morning Saturday, April 15. Keeping with tradition, the Quartzsite Fire Department team checked for snakes and bees. They also hid the Gold and Silver Eggs before the crowds arrived. The younger kids found the Gold and Silver Eggs quickly, but 40 minutes later, the older kids were still searching for the coveted Golden Egg. The Fire crews must have been out on a call because they didn't answer the call to disclose the mysterious location. Fortunately, Quartzsite Police Offi cer Justin Keeling was on scene, and headed out with the kids searching for the missing egg. Finally, young Harmony was victorious founding the Gold Egg and took home the gigantic box of prizes. She will have a great story to tell her grandchildren about the Case of the Missing Golden Egg. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the annual event, all the volunteers, the Council for allocating funds, the Parks & Rec Board and staff. A special thanks to donors Kym Scott, Steve Hardies, Steve Schue, Elliott Ness, Loretta Warner, Proud Neighbors of Quartzsite. And to Monica Timberlake and her girls for stuffi ng 1,000 eggs, Rosa Santos, and Dollar General staff on Watson Rd. in Buckeye, for their help and patience with us occupying most of their shopping carts. Af- ter ringing up almost 600 items, their credit card reader quit. The kind staff guided us to a nearby bank to withdraw the needed cash; thanks to Flora at HCB, too. It was an grand adventure we'll never forget. | S RAIN G-B
