ePsilon chAPter of deltA gAmmA PAge 5 ALUMNAE UPDATE CHAPTER ETERNAL Marilyn Brown Kellough '49 entered Chapter Eternal on February 10, 2016, at the age of 86. Marilyn loved entertaining her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, taking photos, writing letters, reading, playing the organ, sketching, knitting, sewing, arts and crafts, and very quietly doing good deeds. She was loving, kind, gentle, thoughtful, witty, and always a lady who cared deeply for her family and many dear friends. She worked briefly in the Big Bear Stores office and was a longtime member of First Community Church, where she was a member of Guild X, a Couples Circle, and the First Community Foundation Board of Trustees. She volunteered for her church, her children's schools, Children's Hospital, Childhood League, Buckeye Boys Ranch, and was a founding member of the Catherine Black Cancer Ray. Jane Riber Peters '49 entered Chapter Eternal on March 6, 2015, as a resident of Columbus, Ohio. In 1952, she married Arthur Peters and after several years as an Air Force wife, they moved to Columbus where they resided in Upper Arlington, Ohio, for more than 50 years. Jane was a lifelong Methodist, first belonging to Grace UMC in Washington Court House, Ohio, then to Trinity UMC in Marble Cliff. Jane was an active alumna in Delta Gamma, volunteering in the vision screening program, and she was an active volunteer in the Upper Arlington School System. Jean Williams Ware '70 entered Chapter Eternal on January 17, 2014, at her home in Sturgis, Mich. Jean was living and working in Chicago when she built a home on Klinger Lake in 1988. On May 18, 1996, she married David Ware in Barrington, Ill., and they began living on Klinger Lake full time a few years later. She retired in 1998 from the Chicago Board Options Exchange, following 17 years of service. She was also an advisor for Barrington Capital Management. ALUMNAE NEWS Mary McDowell Rhinehart '45 is in the late stages of Alzheimer's. Her husband, Bill, said she is a wonderful mother. Beverly Stover Brown '50 shares that her husband, Jim, was a USMC Marin fighter pilot for 25 years. "When he retired, we returned to Columbus where I worked at EO, a job I thoroughly enjoyed. We now live in a retirement complex in Columbus," Beverly says. Carol Gidding Wilson '50 lives happily in Wilmette, Ill., with her husband, D. Stuart. She says, "I was only at Ohio State for one year, but it was fun and I met my future husband there!" Barbara Short Hogan '52 was married to a lawyer, Bill Woodyard, and had three boys, Scott, Douglas, and Steve, all of whom are in their late 50s. Barbara also has six grandsons: Ryan, Patrick, Evan, Shawn, Jake, and Max. One of Barbara's most cherished memories was being named Miss Anaheim Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1966. Barbara lives in Hailey, Idaho. Diane Bero Beery '55 reports that she has been fortunate enough to travel often. Her most recent trip was spent in Australia and New Zealand for a month. In her spare time, Geraldine enjoys photography and is a member of various clubs, including the Anthony Wayne Garden Club, Maumee Garden Club, Toledo Garden Forum, Serendipity Design Guild, Garden Club of Ohio, Toledo Museum of Art, and 3rd Tuesday Gallery Group. Geraldine lives in Maumee, Ohio. Beth McLaughlin Gest '58 is sad to report her husband, James, passed away on November 21, 2015, from prostate cancer. They were six months short of being married for 50 years. Beth downsized her home, having moved to a condo on October 1, 2016. She is adjusting to a new life, and is including activities with old friends and new. "I am lucky to have both children nearby and three grandchildren," Beth says. Karen lives in Centerville, Ohio. Dr. Martha Dillencourt McCarthy '63 shares, "I am enjoying retirement. It is great fun to have more time to travel, play golf and bridge, and watch my six grandchildren grow and pursue their dreams. My oldest granddaughter is a freshman at OSU this year." Her daughter, Julie, and Julie's husband, Brian, have twins and a son. Karen's son, Darren, and his wife, Kelly, have two children. Karen enjoys teaching Sunday school in Hilliard, Ohio, babysitting, and being with friends. "I often think about how blessed I was to be part of Delta Gamma at Ohio State," she says. Dianne retired from being an instrumental music teacher at Columbus City Schools in 2009 and enjoys time spent with her husband, David, and their children, Patrick, John, and Annie, in Dublin, Ohio. "I became an aunt for the first time this past year. I live with my boyfriend, who is a third-year medical student, but I am not married and have no children yet.
