It seems a perfect month to get out and explore some of Cumberland County's beauty spots. Luckily for you, the Faye eville Area Conven on & Visitors Bureau (FACVB) has created the Patri-Arts & Gardens trail that highlights many of Cumberland County's beau ful spots. Faye eville Rose Garden: Established in the early 1970's at Faye eville Technical Community College, this garden features more than 1,000 rose bushes and par cipates in the All American Selec on. Enjoy the beau ful gazebo, fountains, and flora – best mes are from April un l the first winter's frost. Rose talks can be given by an on-staff hor culturist. Cross Creek Linear Park: In 1765, early se lers discovered the bounty of Faye eville's Cross Creek. The se lement they established along this rich water source would become part of the city of Faye eville. Today, thanks to Cross Creek Linear Park, you too can enjoy the sparkling beauty of Cross Creek, while you learn more about the story this area has to tell. Winding along Cross Creek – skir ng downtown Faye eville – this magnificent "greenway" highlights the natural beauty of the area, while connec ng historic sites and points of interest along the way. Cape Fear Botanical Garden: Consis ng of 77 landscaped acres overlooking Cross Creek River and the Cape Fear River, the grounds include a restored farmhouse, perennial gardens, a natural amphitheater, wildflowers, majes c oaks, nature trails, numerous species of na ve plants and a "water-wise" gardening exhibit. Displays of historical farming tools and techniques show how tobacco, co on, and other southern crops were grown in the southeastern United States.
