Join the Omicron Alumni Organization Today!
I
t is an exciting time to be a Pi Kappa Phi at the University of
Alabama. As our centennial anniversary approaches, there is no
better time to get involved with Omicron Chapter. A great way to stay
involved with the Chapter is through the Omicron Alumni Organization
(OAO). The organization's purposes are to facilitate contacts among
Brothers, organize social events, and create mentoring contacts
between alumni and younger Brothers. OAO membership will consist
of Brothers who participated in the campaign and others who join
voluntarily. There will be no dues, but members will be encouraged to
contribute to the University of Alabama – Pi Kappa Phi Building Fund.
Each member will receive a custom lapel pin and a password to the
Omicron Alumni Organization's website. This site will allow members
to submit stories or photos, review an events calendar, and update
contact information. The website will also permit members to post job
opportunities and resumes. We believe that utilizing the e-mail and
social media resources available to us will fix the lack of communication
among Brothers.
We need Brothers who want to participate in fellowship, mentoring, and
events. OAO is operating with high expectations, but recognizing the
organizational challenges presented by our alumni geographic footprint.
The following brothers have participated in the efforts: Bill Barton '68
(william.barton@wellsfargoadvisors.com), John Greeves '88 (john@
virginiagreaves.com), David Adams '89 (rush1527@yahoo.com),
Steve Smith '88 (ssmith@noesis-capital.com), Seth Chapman '84
(seth@weezabi.com), Whit Callahan '64 (witcall@aol.com), Jimmy
May '71 (jmay@teamquality.com), and Phil Graff '67 (suephil@
bellsouth.net). If you are interested in volunteering in any way or
staying in touch with these efforts, contact any of us at the information
listed or on Facebook. A large, connected alumni group will provide
lasting benefits for all Brothers. Please share our excitement in our 100
years of Omicron Chapter.
