THE DELTA CHI EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION The KnighT erranT Spring 2017 MORE THAN $1 MILLION GIVEN TO SUPPORT DELTA CHI PROGRAMS T hank you to all of our donors and supporters for making 2016 one of our best years ever. More than 1,000 donors supported our programs, each helping us raise more than $1.2 million. Last year, the Foundation granted more than $1 million in support of programs such as the "A"s' Academy, the NIC's Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute, Washburn and Meyer Scholarships, Borelli Leadership Awards, and chapter scholarships and educational housing initiatives. Sponsoring Convention Events Additionally, the Foundation sponsored speakers at last summer's Louisville convention. At that same convention, then Foundation Treasurer Rod Arnold, Texas A&M '88 hosted an amazing bourbon tasting fundraising event to launch our newly created endowment account. Breaking $1 Million for "A"s With the recent grants in support of Delta Chi's "A"s' Academy, the Foundation has surpassed $900,000 in support for this program over the past 12 years. Thank you to all who have supported this program to train our chapter leaders, and please consider continued support as we reach for the $1 million mark. $35,000 for Emerging Leaders You may be aware of the Fraternity's Emerging Leaders Academy, which will be held this summer at the founding place of Delta Chi—Cornell University. The Foundation has already approved $35,000 in grants to help launch this program, which targets rising sophomore and junior chapter leaders. For more information, visit http://deltachi.org/ela. And please consider how you may be able to sponsor a student through a donation. Foundation Staff Growth The Foundation staff is growing, with the addition of a development director and manager of development. Watch for news of these new members of our team, and let us know if you're interested in helping us create leaders in one of these roles. Gifts of All Sizes Matter Please consider how you can help Delta Chi continue to make a positive difference in undergraduate men, and to "assist in the acquisition of a sound education" while developing future leaders. An unrestricted gift provides the ultimate flexibility, allowing the Foundation to use that donation where it's most needed. More than half of our 2016 donors gave $100 or less. Gifts of any amount add up, and helped us issue more than 100 grants in 2016. These grants benefited thousands of undergraduate men. Please help us in doing even more in 2017. Join Us Finally, the Foundation hosted a reception in Phoenix in late February and will host another one in Charlotte in July. If you're in the area, we'd love to see you. Thank you again for your support in 2016. Your support is making a difference. Fraternally, Jim Marascio, Bryant '93 Chairman of the Board of Directors The Delta Chi Education Foundation Gifts of All Sizes Add Up! Make Yours Today.
