24 www.DesertMessenger.com March 15, 2017 THOMAS DONALD MOORE April 12,1966 - February 27,2017 Tom was born in Pomona, Cali- fornia, but moved with his family to Parker Dam, California when he was four. He attended Parker Dam School through 7th grade when the family moved to Parker. He attend- ed Wallace Jr. High and graduated from Parker High School in 1985. While in high school, he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. In 1984, the Broncos went all the way to the state championship, even with a very small roster. After high school he briefl y attend- ed Western AZ College. After leav- ing there, he worked to his parents' store, Quartzsite General Store, and other jobs. He enlisted in the early 1990's and was in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He served in Des- ert Storm, stationed mainly in Sau- di Arabia. READER'S OASIS BOOKS 690 E. He will no longer be taking phone calls relating with any VFW 769 business. We wish him well with his retirement and thank him for his years of service to the VFW. In Memoriam In 1994, he married Deanna Gehle in Minnesota. He and Deanna then returned to the Parker area where their son, Nate, was born and Tom again worked at the Quartzsite Gen- eral Store as a meat cutter. For the last years of his life, he worked at the VA in Minneapolis/St. Paul area, serving as a scheduling counselor in orthopedic surgery. Besides his grandparents, Herb and Anna Miller and Sam and Jean Moore, Tom was predeceased by two nephews, Josh Deysie and Sam Chung. He is survived by his par- ents, Don and Lois Moore, his son, Nate, his brother Tim (Jeanne) sisters, Kari Deysie, Leanne Hare, Sherrie Garlow ( Rick) and Car- rie Schwab (Mike). Also surviv- ing him are his nieces and neph- ews, Tim Moore Jr (Leigh) Megan Rangle, Tiffany Dyer (Jasper) Nick Garlow, Harmony Gularte (Rob), Ryan Schwab (Adriana), Stephanie Schwab, David Deysie Jr. (Kayla), Breann Chung, Robert Chung, Isa- bella Moore & Emmie Moore. He is also survived by fi fteen great neph- ews & nieces, and even one great- great nephew, Luke Aspa. Tom will be interned at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis on March 31st with full military honors. A celebration of his life is to be held at Parker Elks Lodge on Saturday April 8, at 1pm.
