18 www.DesertMessenger.com March 15, 2017 Every year, as our winter residents leave, the Museum reduces hours and our docents depart. This year our winter hours of Wednesday through Sunday 10am to 4 pm will continue until March 25. Start- ing the week of March 26 we will only be open on Thurs- days from 10 am to 12 noon, throughout the summer. It has been a great season for us and we would like to express our appreciation for the many people who have assisted in furthering our mission and the many visitors who have visited us. During the sum- mer we will continue working on the various projects that are under- way, including digitizing our photo collection, preserving the 47-arm cactus, accepting contributions of artifacts, modifying exhibits and inventorying and digitizing our col- lections. In particular, we are con- tinuing to seek photos of the 47-arm cactus, life in Quartzsite in the early years and histories of couples who were married by Judge Hagley. We continue to welcome volunteers who would like to help with the projects, as well as new members for the Historical Society. We invite our summer residents to join us one morning a week. Please contact us at the Museum if you are interested Visiting the Museum is free, al- though donations are always wel- come. Located at 161 W. Main Street (parking in rear). Guided tours are available when we are open. E-mail QHS@TDS.net. Phone: (928)927- 5229.
