Looking forward to seeing our Friends! and bring them back to life. Actors talked about "their" lives and all the hardships "they" endured, but also some of the fun as well. When ill health made her give up the event two years ago, all of us who had act- ed in the event were disappointed that it was not going to happen, and many people asked us when it was coming back again because they loved it so much. Dinice did a fan- tastic job of putting it together, and after getting her permission and the Cemetery Board's approval, the Business Chamber chose to host it for this year's 150th birthday. If you have not seen our cemetery, or have not visited it for awhile, you will be amazed at the fantastic job our Cemetery Board and Town workers have done. There are new roads, the gravesites cleaned up, new trees planted. There's new grav- el areas, an entrance off Kofa Rd., paved parking lot, and much more. The place looks wonderful, and the comments we got from people at the pageant praised our little town for having such a great and well- kept cemetery! They were amazed that such a small town like ours had such a beautifully landscaped cem- etery, and they especially loved the Pioneer Section, since it holds so much history. Here is a list of the actors and the roles they played: Paul Winer played both Hi Jolly and Joseph Cone, Johanna Soliday played Viktoria Hagely, Nancy and Jack Durlin played Elsie and Fred Kuehn, Art Larsen played Judge George Hagely, and Mayor Norm Simpson portrayed Buck Conners. There was a skit with Lindsay and Brenda Miles playing two "soiled doves" at Hannah's House, and Marcia Gunther played a jilted mail order bride who thinks she is visit- ing a boarding house! Jeffrey Scott was there to repre- sent the Scott family, who as most of us know was one of the original and longest lasting family in town--the matriarch Angela Gonzalez mar- ried William Scott in 1857 when she was still a teenager, and became the mother of 12 children, two of whom died in childbirth. Check the mu- seum for more information about this great and hardworking family- -Tyson Wells is owned by her great- great grandson Kym Scott and more of the family still lives here today. The Cowells were another fam- ily that is part of history here, and Elmer London played Clarion Cow- ell. There was also a family tree dis- play of the Everett Cowell family. The travelling preacher was played by Pastor Bruce Swart, and Anna Field was played by Marie Jewett. Rick Miles played Bill Keiser, and Ben Currier was played by Steve Hohstadt. Another vignette of an assay offi ce was performed by play- ers Stan Soliday playing the Assayer and Mike Jewwitt playing the min- er. Rick Miles, Sr. played the sheriff breaking up their fi ght. The fi nal stop on the tour was Carl- ton Gunther playing Harry Stein- man, who worked in the Scott Store and visited Hannah's house. The Sarsaparilla Bar was manned by Tony and Cee Carnevale playing bartender and barmaid, and Mad- am Hannah was played by Joanne Winer. A special thanks to the la- dies from the museum--Kay Moor- ing, Patty Mansell, Lynn Stimson, Arlea Long, and Kathleen Winters, who played a WASP. Special thanks to Kay and Patty for all their help with the photo display. The Tour guides were Christie Mead, Deb- bie Ventling, Janet McElwain, and Sean Kelly. The lone card player was played by Randy Ventling. A special thanks to Archie Lambert and his friend for helping get the tables and chairs from the Commu- nity Center and taking them back for us and to Tom and Celeste from All Pro Pumping for bringing the Port-a-can. We all had such a great time doing this event and learning more about our town in the process. We have heard so many comments since Sat- urday from people who were there and they said how impressed they were with all the information and the players. Thank You to everyone who came and spent an afternoon and a Walk In the Past with us!!
