Listing forms must be updated, signed and returned and must be postmarked by the United States Postal Service no later than Jan. 31 to avoid the 10 percent late listing penalty. Listing forms may be obtained online at co.cumberland.nc.us/tax. aspx or in person at the Tax Administration Office located on the 5th floor of the Courthouse, 117 Dick St. Mail listing forms to Tax Administration, P.O. Employers Invited to March 21 Job Fair Employers are invited to participate in the upcoming "March to Work" Job Fair featuring the Internet Job Café and N.C. Works Career Center on March 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crown Expo Center, 1960 Coliseum Dr., in Fayetteville. The annual job fair attracts over 2,000 qualified job seekers and approximately 100 employers. The job fair provides companies with a great opportunity to find new employees and benefit from the community-wide exposure. Booth space and wireless Internet access are free. If a booth requires electrical access, there will be a $25 fee payable to the Crown Coliseum. Vendors who need electrical access should notify DSS when reserving a booth. Energy Assistance Funds Available The Salvation Army is accepting applications for the North Carolina Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) to help qualified families with their heating costs. Citizens may apply 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Salvation Army office at 1047 Southern Ave. For more information, contact the Department of Social Services LIEAP message line at 910- 677-2821 or the Salvation Army at 910-307-0359. Applications will be accepted through March 31, or until funds are exhausted. Library Hosts Black History Exhibition The Cumberland County Public Library and Information Center is hosting a Black History exhibition on the second floor of Headquarters Library, 300 Maiden Lane, through Feb. 28. The exhibition, collected and researched by Local and State History Library Associate Arletha Campbell, is a compilation of pictures, artifacts and personal stories of prominent African Americans who impacted the history of Fayetteville and Cumberland County. Citizens' Academy Accepting Applications Cumberland County is accepting applications for its upcoming Citizens' Academy running March 7 – April 11. The academy is free and held on six consecutive Tuesdays from 6-9 p.m. at various county government locations. The Citizens' Academy helps people gain a better understanding of what county government does and how the various departments play a vital role in the community. Participants must be residents of Cumberland County. Class size is limited, and academy slots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
