I ndiana Gamma had a strong start to the fall semester this year. Coming off another impressive academic semester in the spring, the Chapter looked to continue that streak. We had plenty of participation in the Indiana University Dance Marathon this year and added a new class of 33 young men to the Chapter. Indiana Gamma is thriving and continuing the recent trend of excellence the Chapter has displayed these past few years. ACADEMICS REMAIN A TOP PRIORITY Academically, the Chapter is continuing to excel. Last spring, we recorded a 3.34 GPA, ranking us fourth among all fraternities and second among housed chapters on campus. The scholarship program is continuing to provide resources to brothers in order to help them succeed in the classroom. This fall, we aimed for yet another top-five finish. ALUMNI SUPPORT FUELS PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS Philanthropically, Indiana Gamma had very heavy involvement in Indiana University Dance Marathon, raising $22,000 and having many brothers representing the Chapter on various committees. Furthermore, the Chapter has just begun its fundraising campaign for Greeks Give Back to build another Habitat for Humanity home after last year's successful campaign. This was largely due to the support from our alumni, so thank you for your continued support. MEMBERSHIP REACHES 150 BROTHERS Recruiting season was very successful for the gentlemen of Indiana Gamma. This past fall, more than 900 young men sought membership to the Chapter. Thirty-three of those young men joined the Chapter from a wide variety of locations, majors, and characteristics. This newest class increases chapter size to well over 150 brothers, with 80 men living in the Chapter house. The Chapter is a thriving group of gentlemen with a strong sense of brotherhood and a desire to excel on campus. UNDERGRADUATES REMAIN ACTIVE The Chapter was busy this semester with a variety of philanthropic, brotherhood, and social activities. Football season was very enjoyable, supporting brother and reigning Big Ten Kicker of the Year Griffin Oakes '17, as well as the rest of the team. We also enjoyed a variety of brotherhood events this semester, including a paintball event. Indiana Gamma held a very successful Dad's Weekend this fall. Hosting a casino night and a tailgate for the fathers proved to be a very fun and rewarding weekend for all. The Chapter was also fortunate to host alumni this past tailgate season at a variety of games. We look forward to many more alumni coming back this spring for basketball games and Little 500, as well as Mom's Weekend. INDIANA GAMMA EXCELS ATHLETICALLY The Chapter continued its excellence on the athletic front this year, with our flag football team reaching the final four, yet again. The Chapter also saw success in futsal and freshman basketball, as Indiana Gamma led all IU fraternities in intramural points. With basketball, soccer, and softball approaching, the brothers are excited to continue the trend of success. Indiana Gamma continues to excel in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in the community. As always, the Chapter could not experience the success it does without the constant support of its strong alumni base. If you are looking for ways to get involved, please reach out, and the Chapter can find an opportunity for you.
