The Supplemen- tal Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as "food stamps,"is a USDA program that of- fers nutrition assistance to millions of eligible, low-income individuals and families. St. Mary's Food Bank SNAP Coor- dinator will be in Quartzsite to pro- vide SNAP enrollment assistance, changes to existing enrollment, and answer questions for families and individuals in need of SNAP as- sistance. Please call La Paz County Community Resources at (928)669- 6141 x4031 to set a priority appoint- ment. Walk-ins are welcome. Children come visit Santa on Satur- day, December 17th. Santa makes his annual visit to 101 Moon Moun- tain from 10:00 to 1:00. Kids can choose a toy, as well as receive a gift bag put together from the kind residents of Crawford's RV Park. Children a well as adults will be provided a free take home photograph with Santa. Parents as Teachers, a free program that brings educational activities, par- ent support and resources to fami- lies with children ages 0-5, directly to their home will be here. Look for the Red Kettle Bell Ring- ers at these local businesses; Dollar General, Roadrunner Market, General Store, Horizon Community Bank, and the Post Offi ce. 100% of the funds raised here stays in Quartzsite for assistance. Our Angel Tree Program has started. Names this year are being generated by the staff of our local Elementary School. Come in, pick an Angel card, go shopping, and return with an unwrapped gift/s for a special child. As we did for Thanksgiving, we will supplement the Christmas Food Bank boxes as well as the Christmas dinner at Isaiah 58. We are able to assist more individuals and families by cooperating with these local agencies. We are blessed with wonderful volunteers and shoppers at the Quartzsite Salvation Army Thrift Store on Moon Mountain Ave. Lee-Ann, new Manager Silly Al's Pizza hosts the 3rd annual ugly Christmas sweater fundraiser Dec 14th at 7pm. 100% of proceeds from sweaters raffl ed off and the cake walk will be donated to the quartzsite fi re de- partment to purchase gifts for the local children on the angel tree. Hosted by Silly Al's and Kevin James. Located at 175 W. Main Street, Quartzsite. SNAP assistance comes to Q Ugly Christmas sweater fundraiser "Good, better, best. Never let it rest. 'Til your good is better and your better is best." ~St. Jerome November 17th the art guild mem- bers met at the Senior Center to paint together and enjoy company. Plans are being made for the Art Show January 13 &14, 2017 at the Senior Center. Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, at the Se- nior Center, Quartzsite, Az. 6:00 to 8:00 P.M offi cially starting at 6:30 P.M. $5.00 to be a member and $5.00 to be a member of the Senior Center. Come join the fun, paint and learn at the same time. Next meet- ing is Dec 15th, 2016 meeting will be a Christmas gathering and $10. gift exchange.
