Main St., Quartzsite • Addicted to Deals TOO! 5 doors east Contributed by: Violet Kiss All I can say is "Wow!" The Quartzsite Rotary's Wild West Gam- blin' Hall was a great success. Why? Because of all of you, that's why! The scrumptious dinner started at 6 sharp with everyone pouring in. The 3 dinner choices at the Yacht Club were lightly Breaded & Fried Alaskan Cod, Smoked Chicken Leg Quarter or Prime Rib Roast all served with Romaine Salad, rolls, roasted pota- toes, a vegetable medley and cheese- cake with 2 toppings, yum! As dessert was finished we did a quick Live Auction for Blythe and Emerald Canyon Golf Courses and several 3 day passes to the Blythe Bluegrass Festival in late January. Quickly most took their Poker and Texas Hold-Um chips to the veran- da where there were tables ready for the onrush with our 7 volun- teer Dealers: Russell Smith, Duce Minor, Gunny St. Germain, Ron Jones, Dwayne Peck, Dave Hurt and Wayne Trumann. Thank you so much, Dealers! They were so pro- fessional and animated, quite enter- taining. Others enjoyed the terrific western band and danced away. By 10 PM all of the chips were be- ing turned in for raffle tickets and the raffle began. Most of our win- ners were there from Quartzsite (lo- cals and snowbirds) as well as from Blythe and Parker. As the evening got a bit long, we still were able to get in a few more dances as the last our guests walked away with our Ro- tary "Thank you" Goodie bags and with smiles on their faces as they go on and to their Happy Trails. First, I need to thank so many for their open-heartedness in donating their time as volunteers to get all of this done: Phil Brown, Andy Kiss, Terry Skop, Sandy Welch, Sarah Welch, and again, all the Dealers. Second, a BIG 'thank you' to all of our donors, who helped make this pos- Rotary doings
