We completed construction of a major renovation of the entry foyer and are in process of selecting and ordering furnishings to complete the project. We have included a sneak peek of the foyer in this issue; look for photos of the finished project in the next newsletter. Completed Summer projeCtS This summer, we also completed the resealing and striping of the parking lot, created a new one- hour parking space for guests, placed new plants and mulch in the planting bed, and installed security cameras and monitors. Many smaller repair and maintenance items were completed, including the annual maintenance and deep cleaning of the house in preparation of the chapter members' arrival in August. VolunteerS needed for upComing projeCtS This year, we hope to finish the décor in the entry, investigate options for new tables and chairs in the social/dining area, and potentially purchase outdoor furniture. We are always in need of additional volunteers to help with projects, like researching the previously listed projects, maintaining the front flower bed, and we are always looking for board members and committee members with backgrounds in accounting, management, interior design, and remodeling, or those who are just eager to help. If you are interested in serving on the board or helping with a project, please contact me—we would love for you to join us! AlumnAe generoSity mAkeS A differenCe In addition to the exciting house renovations, we are also extremely pleased to announce that the Barbara Denham Warren Scholarship is fully funded! Because of the generosity of so many of our chapter alumnae and a gift from the Delta Upsilon HCB, we have raised $41,700. We now have three applicants and will make the first award in the coming weeks. The purpose of the Barbara Denham Warren Scholarship is to provide emergency grants to aid truly needy Delta Upsilon collegiate members in good standing, who find themselves in financial distress, emergency, or crisis through medical, natural disaster, or other severe personal or family problems. Sigma Kappa students who meet the following requirements are eligible for the scholarship: • Initiated collegiate members of Delta Upsilon, Missouri State University in good standing • GPA must be at or above the minimum to remain an active member of the Delta Upsilon Chapter • Evidence of financial need is a crucial factor in selection Eligible Delta Upsilon collegians can apply for the Barbara Denham Warren Scholarship online by visiting app.smarterselect.com/programs/29513- Sigma-kappa. let'S keep it going!
