SAE at Indiana State Welcomes New Brothers, Focuses on Chapter House Improvements T his fall, we gained 19 new brothers, and I am so impressed with the hard work put forth by our undergraduate members during recruitment. Brothers had a great time competing in the 2016 Sycamore Tricycle Derby, but had a tire blowout during the second lap, putting us in sixth place. We had a great turnout for Homecoming at tent city, and Indiana Sigma placed fifth overall. Unfortunately, unseen issues have kept me busy at Indiana Sigma this semester. I have been at the Chapter house almost every night to check up on things since we discovered mold in the house; undergraduate members are not living in the Chapter house as we work to fix this problem as soon as possible. Efforts are underway to remediate the black mold and the chapter will be moving back in as soon as the house has been certified as clean and safe. The undergraduates and I plan to host an event at the Chapter house in spring 2017 and hope that many alumni are able to attend. If any alumni are interested in helping with planning for the Chapter house event, please let me know at gentrystacey66@ hotmail.com or at (217) 822-3538. An alumni golf outing is in the works for August 2017; more details will be shared as they are decided, so stay tuned for more information about those upcoming events. A tandem team for the spring is also in the works, and Indiana Sigma is still in need of Alumni Advisory Board members. For more information about how to get involved on the Alumni Advisory Board, please see the corresponding article on page 2. Any help you are able to offer will be greatly appreciated and will go far in enriching the lives of our undergraduate members.
