T he undergraduates of Washington Beta are proud of our recent academic achievements. In fall 2015, we earned a 3.2 overall GPA, which put us in first out of the 28 fraternities on campus. The following semester, spring 2016, we achieved a 3.12 overall GPA, putting us in fifth out of 28. This semester, our goal is to surpass our previous achievements and earn a 3.25 chapter GPA. We continue to stress that academics come first to all of our members, and we plan to keep progressing through the years with that same mentality. CHAPTER RAISES $500 FOR LOCAL HOSPITAL Philanthropy Chairman Jacob Williams '18 made active strides to support the city community by holding an event benefitting the Pullman Regional Hospital. For the event, we invited Washington State's campus to join us in the chapter house parking lot for a pizza party sponsored by a local restaurant. The event was a great success and we made $500 in donations for the hospital. Jacob truly understands the value of philanthropic events and is eager to encourage our 120 members to help the community. UNDERGRADUATES COMPLETE 800 COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS Community Service Chairman Jake Morrison '18 has continued our community street cleanup each Sunday morning and encouraged members to attend university events, including blood drives and canned food collections. Last spring, we were able to accumulate 800 hours of community service, making us the top fraternity at WSU in community service hours. We are always searching for new ways to offer help to our community, demonstrating that our members pride themselves in contributing to the city of Pullman. BROTHERS ATTEND JOHN O. MOSELY LEADERSHIP SCHOOL Last semester, brothers were fortunate enough to attend Leadership School thanks to one of our great alumni, George Berry '72. His contributions allowed five of our members, Ismael Garcia '19, Zach Howard '19, Jack Sparks '19, Austin Rabinowitz '17, and me, to attend the John O. Mosely Leadership School in Florida free of charge. This provided all of us a way to further our leadership skills within ΣAE and continue to give back to Washington Beta. We are extremely grateful for George's contributions, and we look forward to sending our members each year, through his generous contributions, to the John O. Mosely Leadership School. THANK YOU, LOYAL ALUMNI The men of Washington Beta are proud to add to the rich history of ΣΑΕ. We are thankful for your continued support and guidance and realize we would not be the chapter we are today if it weren't for the example you have set. As we continue to improve on our academic and philanthropic success, community involvement, and leadership skills, we hope to share our experiences with you and build upon our lasting legacy at WSU.
