P i Chapter is off to a phenomenal start this school year. Last spring, the chapter hosted its annual philanthropic event, French Toast Feed, during which more than $5,000 was raised to support Girls on the Run at both the national and local levels. Our dedication to our philanthropic efforts is continuously expanding, and the members' understanding of Gamma Phi Beta's philanthropic mission of "Building Strong Girls" is reinforcing our foundation at Pi Chapter. We were excited to share this unique and meaningful mission with all the women who participated in primary recruitment this August. Additionally, the chapter received special recognition from the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation for our continued support as members of the 1874 Society. International Gamma Phi Beta recognized Pi as one of three chapters who received the highest GPA (3.58) among all collegiate chapters during the spring 2016 semester. We were also one of just six chapters to attain the 1874 level of Order of the Crescent for the 2015-16 academic school year. This signifies Pi's excellence in all areas of chapter life. Our chapter name will be listed on a plaque at International Headquarters in recognition of this achievement. The seven executive council members, alongside our chapter advisor, Kelsey Hohlen '06, traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, this summer to attend Convention 2016. What a tremendous opportunity it was to experience the sorority in such a memorable way and recognize the significant impact this organization has had on so many women! Pi Chapter was proud to receive the following awards: • Shining Star Award: Alex Janvrin '14 • Collegiate Community Involvement Award • New Member Programming Excellence Award • Alumnae-Collegiate Relations Award – Honorable Mention • Lillian Thompson Award: Lauren Greufe '12 – Honorable Mention • Elizabeth Ahlemyer Quick Panhellenic Leadership Award – Honorable Mention • Collegiate Public Relations Excellence Award – Honorable Mention On August 20, we welcomed 53 new members to Pi Chapter! Now with a chapter totaling more than 170 collegiate members, we are excited to make our mark within the local Greek community, UNL campus, Lincoln community, and as a part of International Gamma Phi Beta.
