T his fall, I want to communicate with you all how very grateful we are at Pi Chapter for your generosity. I am thrilled to share that we are officially, completely debt free! Due in large part to the gifts and support of our cherished alumnae and friends, we paid off our mortgage in the spring. We will celebrate this milestone at our Founder's Day festivities on November 12. Please, join us as we burn the mortgage and mark 142 years of Gamma Phi Beta! With that goal surpassed, we are wasting no time moving on to the next project on our list. Plans are underway to completely renovate and beautify the living room next summer. If you are interested in contributing to that project, please contact me. I also want to express my appreciation for the opportunity to attend our sorority's Biennial Convention in June in Atlanta, Georgia. I had the great privilege of representing Pi Chapter and the Lincoln Alumnae Chapter at Convention along with all of our chapter's executive team and two other Affiliated House Corporation Board members. It was just a blast! We attended business meetings, celebrated awards won (several of which went to Pi Chapter!), met new friends, elected new leaders, and learned more about our amazing sorority. The theme of Convention was, "Making Our Mark," and we certainly left our mark in Atlanta. Some highlights included: • Pi Chapter was recognized as part of the 1874 Society, a newer order that recognizes annual gifts of at least $1,874. What an inspiring choice by our collegiate members! • We danced the night away at the World of Coca-Cola with our big pink hats at the Conventioneer's Dinner. • We commemorated the re-establishment of six chapters, including three single-letter chapters (Beta, Iota, and Phi) and the introduction of 12 new chapters in the past two years! We also became "Life Loyal" to Gamma Phi Beta! Our sorority has rolled out a new program that enables alumnae to pay a one-time fee of $299 in lieu of future annual international alumnae dues with a discount for our alumnae initiated more than 50 years ago. Chapter Advisor Kelsey Hohlen '06, AHC Vice President Jamie Steckelberg Scott '99, and I all chose to participate in this awesome new program! Please contact me if you have questions or want further details.
