Knightly News Fall 2016 Sigma Nu Fraternity s UNIVERSITY OF southern california PROFOUND LEADERSHIP AT SIGMA NU CARRIES CAMPAIGN TOWARD FINAL PHASE Opportunity to Support Epsilon Omicron: Honor Our Past, Build Our Future Ends December 31 T hanks to the support of more than 150 brothers and commitments totaling more than $530,000, the Epsilon Omicron Chapter is continuing the great effort by alumni to restore, preserve, and ensure its future. We are extremely grateful to all of the donors who made this possible by submitting new gifts, remaining diligent with their pledge payments, and even accelerating their giving to help us reach our goal. Your loyalty to Epsilon Omicron is what has gotten us this far, and we hope you can see that we need you all to make it to the finish line. Have you considered the impact your gift would have on your chapter? Thanks to the contributions we have received thus far, the Holding Corporation was able to get a head start on renovations last year, which included rebuilding the rooftop deck and replacing our sport court due to draining problems and decay. The house is in good physical and fiscal condition, and with your support, our undergraduate brothers will be afforded the opportunity to live in a safe, modern facility that provides the resources necessary to be successful both in the Fraternity and on campus. I can't tell you what your Sigma Nu experience means to you. What I can tell you is that these young men of Epsilon Omicron have the same hopes, dreams, and concerns that you had when you first stepped across the threshold of 660 West 28th Street. The friendships they will form, as you know, will last a lifetime. The experiences they will create are fundamentally the same as yours. Please keep that in mind when you consider a donation or another way to support your Fraternity. With the campaign coming to its official close December 31, it is imperative that you act now to ensure your name is included on our donor plaque, which will be prominently displayed in the Chapter House. All contributors who give a minimum of $1,000, over a five-year period, will be recognized on this important piece. There is a pledge card and reply envelope enclosed in this newsletter for your convenience. Please don't toss it aside or throw it away—fill it out now for the future of our Chapter. To make your gift online today, visit www.uscsigmanu.org/donate. Thank you to everyone who has supported us through generous donations of time and resources. With tailgate season upon us, I invite you to join the Holding Corporation and brothers old and new during each home game. We look forward to seeing you and reconnecting! Sigma Nu provided Brother Dean Dunphy '43, EO 310 with not only lifelong friends, but also invaluable experiences, skills, and knowledge that paved the way for much of his success after graduating. "I received a football scholarship to the university and instantly connected with many of the guys on the team who were in Epsilon Omicron," he said recently. "Their warm, welcoming nature truly made the Chapter feel like a home away from home and I am thankful to be surrounded by brothers who have given me a lifetime of laughter, memories, and unmatched camaraderie." Being surrounded by supportive brothers such as Bob McKay '40, EO 263 , who served as Chapter president and student body president of the university, and freshman football coach Bob (Continued on page 3) Dean Dunphy '43, EO 310 holds a picture of himself during his college days on USC's football team.
