For Arizona write-in candidates who choose to forgo participating in the Primary Election and want to be an official write-in candidate at the Gen- eral Election only, the deadline was September 29, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. According to La Paz County Elections Director Kevin Scholl, Quartzsite resident Mike Roth "is not an official Write-In Candidate." He said Roth "failed to file his pa- perwork on time." Scholl said he explained this to Roth the first week in October, but Roth still has signs up all over Quartzsite. Scholl stat- ed he can't receive funds or do any campaigning. Desert Messenger reached out to Roth but as of press time, has not received a response.
