Crescent News page 2 Miranda Hagar '16 and Taylor Paluczak '14 wave a Tri Delta flag from the front porch on Bid Day this year. T he Delta Xi Chapter of Delta Delta Delta is excited for a new year as we welcome in our wonderful new members. These women truly embody the values of Tri Delta, and we couldn't be more proud to bring them into our sisterhood. During recruitment, we found out some very exciting news regarding our philanthropy, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It was announced that we exceeded our goal and that our chapter alone raised $121,542 for the kids. We are currently the ninth top fundraising chapter in the country, and the top fundraising chapter in the Midwest region. We are thankful for the support of friends and family, and are very proud to be a part of such an amazing philanthropy. On September 11, we held our annual softball tournament, Triple Play. We had 42 teams sign up to play, and the women had a great time coaching the players. We are determined to have another great fundraising year, and hope to plan a trip to St. Jude in the spring. We are very excited to get involved within the community this semester. Our members have enjoyed attending speakers and events through the Panhellenic Association and enjoy supporting the other chapter's philanthropies as well. We plan to get involved through community service events and have made it a goal for each of our members to get involved on campus outside of Tri Delta. Our members have also maintained great academics while staying involved. As a chapter, we earned a 3.39 GPA, which is above the all-sorority, all-female, all-Greek, and all- university averages. I would like to thank the alumnae and volunteers who have helped guide and support the officers and members, and all who have shown us the true meaning of lifetime membership and sisterhood. We enjoyed alumnae company and had a great time listening to their Mizzou and Tri Delta stories. tri Delta reveals new Brand identity A fter a yearlong process initiated by the Executive Board, this summer, Tri Delta revealed a new brand identity. Their goal was to determine what sets us apart as an organization created by women, for women, keeping in mind that we must be simple, yet compelling, in our brand identity. The new brand draws from the values of the Tri Delta experience: friendship, confidence, unselfish leadership, and opportunities for strong women. It takes classic symbols, colors, and imagery, modernizing them to create a fresh new look. Every time you see the Tricon, you may see something different— just like every Tri Delta experience is distinct and cherished. W e are always in the process of recruiting and we need your help in finding the best women to join our next class of Tri Delta sisters. We only include women for whom we have references in our week-long reference study, so your involvement is crucial. You can find a reference form by visiting the Deltas Only side of www.tridelta.org.
