Tradition The Alpha-Phi Zeta's INSIDE Alumnus Spotlight pg. 2 Thank You, Loyal Alumni pg. 2 Record-Setting Recruitment 3 Welcome, New Associates pg. 4 Since 1917 Fall 2016 Lambda Chi Courtyard Receives Renovation T he fall semester at the Capstone brings a new look to the house as we demolished the old wood deck and replaced it with new artificial wood decks, a basketball court, and landscaping. The second-floor hallways and rooms were cleaned and painted along with the purchase of new chairs for the dining room. The Lambda Chi Alpha House Corporation is very proud of the young men of Alpha-Phi Zeta as they welcome 60 new associate members, bringing our total to 145. While numbers are important for financial strength, it is the quality of our young men that is most important. The Chapter is focused on improving academics and strengthening the brotherhood of Alpha-Phi Zeta. We welcome new alumni leadership with the creation of an Alumni Advisory Committee (AAC) that will support our new High Pi Chapter Advisor Kevin Burgess, AF1018. Chad Clark, EF1435, is our new faculty advisor with the University. Brad Taylor, AF1032, supports our High Rho alumni officer and is developing a new Chapter website, alphaphizeta.org. Other members of the AAC are Roy Gregg, AF881, supporting the High Kappa fraternity educator; Russell McEwan, AF1044, supporting the High Tau treasurer; and Barry Ingram, AF1005, supporting the High Phi ritualist. In 2017, Alpha-Phi Zeta will celebrate our 100th anniversary on the campus of the University of Alabama. We are in the planning stages and if you would like to be involved, please contact Harrison Camp, AF1319, at bamahc@aol.com. This is my last newsletter article as I move into the role of House Corporation president emeritus. Wayne Keith, AF775, serves as our new House Corporation president as of Before After Homecoming on October 1. I am confident Wayne will do a great job. Thank you to all of my Alpha-Phi brothers for your support, involvement, and generous donations. It has been my pleasure to serve you. Fraternally yours in Z.A.X., Thomas O.
