2 Lambda Chi Alpha T he phrase, "It's not rocket science," couldn't be further from the truth for Brad Taylor, AF1032. Earlier this year, he completed 30 years working with Teledyne Brown Engineering, currently serving as Director of Engineering and Test. He has been involved in programs to build target missile systems, which are designed as targets for testing critical parts of the nation's missile defense system. Flight tests of the defense systems ensure that America will remain safe from countries that would do us harm. In other words, Brad is a rocket scientist. In his free time, Brad enjoys the outdoors: hiking, backpacking, and camping, as well as sailing and kayaking, scuba diving, and fishing. He is also a Sunday school teacher and a member of a stock investment club. He and his wife, Leisa (a former Alpha-Phi Zeta little sister), live in Huntsville and have two children, Melissa and John, a senior and freshman, respectively, at Alabama. Now that his son is an associate member of Lambda Chi Alpha, and will be present for the 100th anniversary in 2017, Brad is especially nostalgic of his days with Alpha-Phi Zeta. "Lambda Chi Alpha teaches the importance of leadership, scholarship, and brotherhood," Brad said. "These tenets form a true legacy for the brothers that follow in our footsteps. My brothers were like family to me, especially since I was truly on my own as an 18-year-old living far from my family. Today, it is no different, despite the miles that may separate me from my brothers. "As Alpha-Phi Zeta continues to grow and flourish, it requires necessary care. For example, the House Corporation routinely has projects that require funding. We also have the Alpha-Phi Zeta scholarship fund that is managed by National's Educational Foundation. Find which of these appeals to you and make it a part of your charitable giving. Future generations will get to share the experiences of Alpha- Phi Zeta due to your support." 1917 Club ($5,000 and above) Charles K.
