KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY page 3 T his summer, the men of Kansas State brought the second-largest delegation to the 60th Delta Chi International Convention with eight undergraduate members and five alumni in attendance. Those who made the trip to Louisville gained valuable knowledge that they were ex- cited to bring back to the chapter this fall. While there, the members were able to help celebrate a victory for alumnus Aaron Otto '98, as he was voted and sworn in as the 53rd International President of Delta Chi. Welcome Back Brothers The chapter started the fall semester off with a bang by hosting a barbecue at the chapter house, which nearly all of the members of the Alumni Board of Trustees were able to attend along with the new Executive Director, Keith Shriver, Florida '79, "AA" Aaron Otto '98, and a little over 10 potential new members who showed interest in joining our brotherhood. The chapter also welcomed our new alumni advisor, John Kattenberg '03, and our new faculty advisor, Wesley Wise, at the event. Strength in Numbers After a strong emphasis on summer recruitment, we were able to do an early pinning of eight members at our summer chapter meeting in June; after the welcome back barbecue, we reached our goal of a 30-man associ- ate member Mu class this fall. It's the largest class ever. Hoops for Hope We hosted our fall philanthropy, Hoops for Hope, a four-on-four charity basketball tournament with Alpha Delta Pi, for the second year. The event was held on Saturday, October 1, at the K-State Recreation Complex. We were fortunate enough to receive support from Dick Vitale at ESPN, KSU Basketball Coach Bruce Weber, and Sean Lowe from The Bachelor, and we were able to raise $1,800 to benefit cancer research for children. Thankful for Alumni Support We are truly grateful for the support of our generous and loyal alumni. We encourage you to stop by the chapter house whenever you are in Manhattan. We love to meet the brothers who have provided us with priceless opportu- nities and paved the path we're following at Kansas State.
