In the spring semester, the chapter set many goals to make new changes and continue old traditions. For the past seven months, a pledge training committee composed of actives ranging from freshmen to seniors has been tirelessly working to create a new program that will promote the ideal qualities of an Alpha Nu brother. is new program will create Men of Principle for decades to come. Coming off a record-breaking philanthropy event this spring, the TomStrong 5K, we welcomed back Brother Tom Babb '19 to Usher Mansion this fall. We look forward to being alongside him in the next step of his journey. As far as the philanthropy event, we plan on exceeding our tremendous efforts this year in raising more than $40,000 for the Tom Babb Student Accessibility Scholarship. We plan to continue our excellent track record of winning fraternity grades for 16 semesters in a row. e chapter achieved a 3.44 GPA this past semester. Our new pledge training program will promote academics to help us continue reaching this goal each semester. is past year, we participated in Rock Chalk Revue with the women of Chi Omega. e show was a great success thanks to the effort of the Rock Chalk directors and everyone who participated in the show. e show, James and the Giant Peach Basket, received several awards: Best Production Number, Best Lead Male, Best Lead Female, Best Overall Vocals, Best Overall Choreography, Best Introduction Video, and People's Choice Award for Best Show. Next year, we will pair with Kappa Alpha eta and plan to continue this success. Recruitment for the 2020 pledge class has come along great thanks to the recruitment chairmen. We filled our pledge class for the upcoming year, and we have a diverse group of men who came to Lawrence this semester from Texas to Massachusetts. We are excited to welcome them to Usher Mansion and the Alpha Nu tradition this fall. While we strive to make effective changes in some areas of our chapter, we understand the importance of maintaining our success in the classroom and as leaders on the Hill. is tradition will always be upheld by our dedicated and determined brothers.
