Respite Group Did you know approxi- mately 80% of the care of older adults is provided within the home by family members? Group respite programs are intended to provide temporary relief to family members and other primary caregivers. Group respite meets on Thursdays from 9am-12:30pm at the Council on Aging/Neal Senior Center. The pro- gram offers participants unique opportunities for socialization and a variety of activities not available to them at home. If you or someone you know could use this service and meets the qualifications, please call Kathy Cobb at 704-482- 3488 for more details on this service. Operation Cool-Off The Council on Aging has fans to give away dur- ing the hot summer months for senior adults. Age 60 or above with no air condi- tion and in need that live in Cleveland County. Hot weather is dangerous for older adults and anyone with heart disease, diabe- tes, or a history of stroke. Please call the Council on Aging at 704-482-3488 if you are in need of a box fan.
