June 13, 2012 Quartzsite, AZ - The Arizona Western College Quartzsite Learning Center is scheduling two courses for kids, 6th to 10th grade, to be held the week of June 25th through June 28th. Pry your teenager away from the televi- sion or computer screen and have them participate in a class that will exercise their creative, artistic and problem solving talents. Students can learn basic techniques of construction then design and build their own miniature structure in a course titled Fun Craft Construction, or they can learn the basics of jewelry making and utilize their artistic abili- ties to design and create their own jewelry pieces in Jewelry Making. La Paz Public Health Sponsoring All Star Program for Kids in Quartzsite Quartzsite, AZ - The La Paz County Public Health Education & Preven- tion Program is sponsoring a free program for kids in the 5th through 8th grade. The program is called "All Stars" because it helps adolescents develop positive characteristics and avoid risky behaviors. All Stars helps kids establish posi- tive goals and on the last day of the program, each participant video tapes their positive personal commitment. Each youth will be given a DVD to remind them of the commitment they made to themselves.
