June 13, 2012 QPD Arrest Report May 23rd thru June 6th, 2012 The following arrests were made by the Quartzsite Police Department 5-24: Arren Marina, age 22, of Compton, CA, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-24: Maxwell Doolittle, age 22, with Blythe, CA, was arrested and booked for Super Extreme DUI. 5-25: Michelle Lauer, age 21, of Danville, CA, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-25: Deborah Huffert, age 61, of Peoria, AZ, was cited and released for Excessive Speed 5-25: Kami Fretheim, age 19, of Gilbert, AZ, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-25: Craig Roetman, age 46, of Chandler, AZ, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-25: Daniel Biscos, age 42, of Ful- lerton, CA, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-25: Hector Montes, age 57, of Ensenada, Baja California, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-25: Phyllis Schatzberg, age 77, of Lakeside, AZ, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-25: Andrew Bronson, age 62, of Lake Havasu City, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-25: Rick Gaffney, age 51, of Prescott, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-28: Abe Kento, age 27, of Ana- heim, CA, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-28: Claudia Montoya, age 31, of Phoenix, AZ, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-28: Lawrence Squicciarni, age 55, of Scottsdale, AZ, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 5-28: Chanice Sander, age 20, of Sun City, CA, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 6-1: Nicholas Johnson, age 21, of Rancho Mirage, CA, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. 6-1: Maria Pena-Rodriguez, age 25, of Riverside, CA, was cited and released for Excessive Speed. www.DesertMessenger.com 6-1: Felipe Resendez, age 55, of Mission, TX, was cited and released for Log Book not Current (Commer- cial Driver). 6-3: Shano Schmidt, age 39, of Seal Beach, CA, was arrested and booked into the La Paz County Jail for Driv- ing on a Suspended License, Exces- sive Speed, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 6-3: David Workman, age 58, of Quartzsite, was arrested and booked into the La Paz County Jail for Ag- gravated Assault, Unlawful Imprison- ment, Resisting Arrest, and Interfer- ing with Judicial Proceedings. Food Handlers Classes La Paz County Health Dept. provides Food Handler Classes in Quartzsite. The classes are held on Wednesdays. In December and January, the De- partment adds Friday classes to the schedule. La Paz County Health Regulations require that all food handlers or those people handling equipment must ob- tain a Food Handlers card prior to working in a food booth. Food Han- dler cards cost $15 (fees waived for volunteers for non-profi t groups) can be obtained by coming to Health De- partment on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (7:00 am – 5:00 pm) to watch the video and take the test with a score of 70% or higher (retakes allowed) or by presenting a current food handlers card from another ju- risdiction and paying cost of La Paz card, or by claiming extensive food knowledge and taking the test (no retakes without watching the video). The food handler card must be ob- tained annually. Main St., Quartzsite. A town hall meeting is an infor- mal public meeting. Everybody in the community is invited to attend, voice their opinions, and hear the responses from public fi gures and elected offi cials about shared subjects of interest. This meeting is a moderated meeting, where attendees can submit writ- ten comments and questions to Quartzsite offi cials and staff. No- tice has been given that there may be a possible quorum of council members, however no offi cial business will be conducted by the mayor or council.
