A Celebration of Life was held in Washington on Saturday, June 11. "I met Barbara while working for a south- ern Oregon newspaper," said Shanana Rain BearCat, publisher of Desert Messenger. "She then became a contributor of my publication, The Wellspring Journal from 1994-1996. Barbara shared her 'Astrological Perceptions' with Desert Messenger read- In Memoriam ers from 2008 until last year. She was a sweet spirit and will be missed by so many who were touched by her words of wisdom." In addition to being an accomplished author, Barbara was a Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher, certified Reflexologist and Clairvoyant, as well as an Astrologer. Barbara said it was her "greatest desire to make a difference in people's lives, by way of healing, massage, readings, or whatever is needed." WINTER HOURS November thru March Mon- Sat 9am-1pm New Youth program explores radio science This summer the youth in Quartzsite will have the opportu- nity to get their amateur radio li- cense, get on the air with their own radio, and learn to fly drones and the science that makes them work. The program will also provide par- ticipants the opportunity to build and experiment with electronics, meet new friends from nearby or from around the world, and even help plan a radio contact with as- tronauts onboard the International Space Station. Participation and materials are FREE and youth ages 8 to 17 are welcome to join. Classes begin June 11th and will be held every 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month from 2:00-4:00pm at the Quartzsite Town Hall.
