B rothers, the Michigan Alpha House Corporation (MAHC) deeply appreciates your support over the past several years. We have accomplished incredible things together, most notably purchasing and updating our new chapter house, 630 Oxford. Together, we raised more than $260,000! For all our hard work and dedication to this effort, we should be extremely proud. After reviewing and strategizing what is best for Michigan Alpha, MAHC has decided to end the Great Tradition—New Vision capital campaign. Join the Canonsburg Club As we close the book on our capital campaign, we turn our focus to the operational success of Michigan Alpha and preparing ourselves for opportunities in the future. This year in particular, we are shifting our focus to the Canonsburg Club. The Canonsburg Club is an annual giving program set up to allow the Michigan Alpha House Corporation to continue making improvements to 630 Oxford and keep the chapter financially stable. Entry to the club requires an annual membership gift of $18.52 per month ($222.24 per year). You can sign up for recurring monthly payments by visiting www.michiganalpha.kintera.org/donate. Just think—if all 817 of our active alumni joined Canonsburg Club, we would create a fund that could significantly improve our existing house by refurbishing the basement and adding a third story to the house, expanding it to more than 30 live-in brothers. Additionally, we would be able to prepare ourselves for the eventual opportunity of securing 1660 Washtenaw, the grand old house of past Michigan Alphas. Please join your brothers and become a part of the Canonsburg Club today. Founders' day 2016 and Future events Although our timing could have been better—the event was held over Easter weekend—we still had a strong undergraduate and alumni showing at Founders' Day 2016 in Ann Arbor. Once again, we held the event at the beautiful Palmer Commons on the U of M campus and were treated to stories of entrepreneurship, undergraduate success, and dedication to Phi Psi from young and old. To learn more about our second annual award recipients, please read the articles on page 3. As we look forward to the summer and fall, I encourage you to keep watch for e-mail announcements of Michigan Alpha events in your local area. We hope to host another round of summer BBQs in Detroit, Chicago, and New York. Additionally, we'll be hosting our second annual Phi Psi Cup golf outing in Ann Arbor on September 16. Please see the announcement on page 2 for more details. stay involved with MiChigan alpha I urge you to find a way to maintain or increase your involvement with Michigan Alpha this year. Quite simply, our mission is to serve each other and our undergraduate brothers. We have numerous opportunities to assist with mentoring, job networking, academic or career advising, financial stewardship, and social activities. Please reach out to the members of MAHC and let us know how you would like to help. If you made a multi-year pledge to the capital campaign, please ensure you continue payment on your commitment. We still have nearly 20% left to collect of our total raised! It is essential we receive every dollar pledged so Michigan Alpha can maintain good financial standing. We are grateful for your support and encouragement and look forward to serving you as we prepare for another fantastic year for Michigan Alpha.
