EPSILON OMICRON NEWS 3 I n the 69 years Alpha Tau Omega has been a facet of the Oklahoma State University campus, its brotherhood has remained strong. Epsilon Omicron's legacy of love and respect has continuously drawn men into a true sense of brotherhood, including Robert Soult '13. "ATW was one of the only Chapters that I met with that I felt had a strong sense of brotherhood. I felt like this was the Chapter to be a part of because I knew I would enjoy my years as an active member, spending time with the new friends and brothers I would make here," he said. In his undergraduate years, Robert developed great pride for his Chapter. "I am very proud of my membership in ATW and actively wear our letters when I am out to exemplify the men of ATW," he said. "It makes me happy when members of other ATW Chapters see me and call me out for a conversation in different parts of the country or world." College, like any other part of life, is made up of both joyous and trying times. Robert's brothers have always been a source of support, and when his father passed away in November 2014, they were at his side. "It was a difficult time for me and they helped me out in any way they could," he said. "It was nice to have people to just come talk to when I needed to. Having a chaplain that lived in house was nice because I always had someone to go talk to when times got hard." This spring, Robert will graduate with his degree in biochemistry and molecular biology and will attend medical school at OSU in the fall. He recently proposed to his girlfriend, Carissa Ann Davis, and the two are planning to wed in the summer of 2017. Though his college career is ending, Robert is prepared for his bright future. "Being an ATW has helped me grow through my college years by teaching me and helping me through tough times, with a brotherhood that will last a lifetime." he said. After the spring initiation ceremony, we currently have 94 active undergraduate members—a record for our Chapter in recent years. With this many hands on deck, we have been able to reach incredible new heights as a Chapter. Gatorfest Raises $15,500 for Charity One of the improvements we saw this year was our signature event, Gatorfest, which raises funds for the Stillwater YMCA. We raised more than $15,000 this year, which is $3,000 more than last year. In addition, we recently won the coveted Phi Tau Madness basketball tournament, winning $500 toward our philanthropy budget. Active on Campus In addition to our commitment to philanthropy, ATW has a strong presence on campus. We currently have seven men who are serving in the ROTC program, while fulfilling their academic and ATW responsibilities. Brother Grant Epsilon Omicron Ends Spring Strong Chapter Raises More than $15,000 for Charity Kappa Delta and Alpha Tau Omega partner at this year's Varsity Revue. Alpha Tau Omega and Alpha Delta Pi display their designs as a team at Homecoming last fall. McClendon '13 is serving as the executive director of Varsity Revue, the largest of the three Greek philanthropic variety shows. As a Chapter, we have approximately 17% of our eligible members initiated into Order of Omega, which is an honor society for the top 3% of members in the Greek community. At this year's IFC Greek Awards banquet, we took home second place in intramurals and our Chapter advisor, Thomas Jordan '63, won Advisor of the Year. Thankful for Alumni One of the most treasured events we have taken part in this year was our brotherhood campout at Lake Carl Blackwell. Both alumni and undergraduates spent the night eating great barbecue and trading tales about the fraternity. Alumni involvement with the Chapter is pivotal to our success, and we hope to continue a strong relationship. If you are ever traveling through Stillwater, we would love for you to stop by the Chapter House.
