"The relationships, friendships, and network Sigma Chi gives you as you progress in your career are invaluable," he said. Dave is president of both Champion Foods and its sister company, Little Caesar Pizza Kit Fundraising. "The values Theta Theta taught—honesty, integrity, drive—re-inforced who I was and how I grew up. I think all of those contribute to success in business." With the many memories, friendships, and career skills Theta Theta provided, Dave jumped at the chance to give back to his fraternity. "When I looked back, I felt it was my responsibility to give back to Sigma Chi," he said. By joining the Preserving Our Past, Securing Our Future: 100 Years at 548 South State campaign, Dave hopes to help with long-term sustainability of the Chapter as well as strengthening alumni and undergraduate connections. He reminds fellow alumni that whether you dedicate your time, talent, or treasure, it is never too late to make a difference. Dave and his wife, Karen, live in Ann Arbor with their two daughters, Sarah (15) and Katie (13). He spends much of his free time cheering at his daughters' lacrosse, field hockey, and soccer games and continues to play ice hockey. You can connect with Dave at david.kowal@championfoods.com.
