SC Theta Theta Chapter of Sigma Chi University of Michigan P.O. Box 3244 Ann Arbor, MI 48106-3244 Address Service Requested S igma Chi has had an eventful spring semester through engaging philanthropic ventures, intramural sports, and academics. We participated in Winterfest, fundraised for our MRelay, and are already planning some big events for the fall semester. With strong member classes, we plan to continue to grow and immerse ourselves in the Michigan Greek life community. Climbing the Academic Ladder Theta Theta ranked 12th in academics last fall with a GPA of 3.352. This is an improvement from our 16th-place ranking in the winter of 2015. "The Chapter started a new initiative of booking rooms in the University of Michigan library for brothers to study together," Scholarship Chairman Adam Eckburg '19 said. We continually strive to improve our GPA and hope these new initiatives will allow us to end the spring semester within the top 10 fraternities in academics. Making a Difference in Ann Arbor For Alpha Sigma's Winterfest, we raised more than $6,000 for the Autism Alliance of Michigan. Our most noteworthy Chapter activity, MRelay with Pi Beta Phi, raised over $4,000 from our team benefiting the American Cancer Society. Puppies on the Porch, our annual philanthropy event, took place on April 15. The event brings puppies from the Humane Society to the Chapter House and raises funds for their organization. TheTa TheTa Takes on spring Chapter Raises $10,000 Growing the Brotherhood In the fall, Theta Theta initiated 23 new members from the Nu class and 16 members in the Xi class were initiated on April 16. These men have already made a difference in our Chapter and we are excited to watch them grow in Sigma Chi. To provide a recommendation letter for a man you think embodies Sigma Chi, please contact Recruitment Chairman Chris Robb '18 at chrobb@umich.edu. Intramural Champs Our intramural basketball team won its championship game earlier this semester in Crisler, taking on Sigma Phi Epsilon in a competitive game. We have had flag football and softball teams in the recent years, and Athletics Chairman Lance Coomar '19 describes us as "one competitive fraternity." It has been a successful semester for Sigma Chi, but our momentum doesn't stop here. We are eager for fall recruitment to come and to initiate new men who will continue our traditions of brotherhood and excellence. So much of what we do must be accredited to our wonderful alumni. We are ever grateful for your support and guidance.
