Our Call to Action W e ask that each and every Epsilon consider making a commitment to this project. Together with our collegiate members, the volunteer leadership of Epsilon is committed to this major undertaking, which will allow us to rebuild our home at 214 N. Plum Street. Our investment in the future of A Xi's facility will ensure the success of our chapter and will pro- mote a legacy upon which to build an even greater sisterhood. GIFT STRUCTURE Because of the magnitude of our objectives, we urge all alumnae to consid- er major gifts to the campaign. In order for each alumna to maximize her participation, gifts can be structured over a five-year pledge period. How- ever, early gifts to the campaign are preferable to help reduce borrowing costs. Gifts in honor or in memory of other Alpha Xis, as well as family gifts, are welcome. Recognition in such cases will be given to both the donor and the honoree. TAX-DEDUCTIBLE GIFTS Project costs that are educational as designated by the IRS are 100% tax deductible. Tax-deductible dona- tions will be accepted by the Alpha Xi Delta Foundation for the Epsilon Housing Grant for specific use to- ward our project. The Alpha Xi Delta Foundation will set a limit to the amount of tax-deductible dollars raised for this project based on an assessment completed by a qualified tax attorney and the IRS. NON-TAX-DEDUCTIBLE GIFTS NEEDED A larger portion of the project is deemed non-educational, which means there is a need for contributions that are not tax deductible to complete the project with minimal debt placed on the chapter. Therefore, donors are also encouraged to consider directing a portion of their gift to the Epsilon Housing Corporation. PAY IT FORWARD Your investment in Epsilon will directly impact the lives of our current and future members. Today, perhaps more than ever, it is important that we provide young college women with an environment that offers a solid foundation for their education and affords them opportunities for high ac- ademic achievement and the development of leadership and social skills. We recognize that each of us benefited from the generosity, work, and sacrifice of those who went before us. We all enjoyed the sisterhood Alpha Xi Delta provided during our years at USD. Now it is our time to stretch our giving and support the financial challenge as- sociated with building a new chapter house. We must move forward now or risk falling behind others. With your support, Epsilon will contin- ue to provide a quality living and learning environment that supports, nurtures, and develops outstanding young women with the skills and confidence to face an ever-changing world. The commitment we make to- day cannot be underestimated; it will have a far-reaching effect on the lives of our Epsilon sisters for years to come.
