PI DEUTERON
CONTINUES BUILDING
STRONG LEADERS AT KU
T
he 2015-16 year for Pi Deuteron at the University of Kansas has been
one of outstanding progress and growth. Starting in the summer of
2015, the Chapter House underwent massive renovations, seeing the
redesign of the foyer, backyard, and fourth floor.
Pi Deuteron Welcomes 30 New Members
The recruitment classes of 2019 saw 30 fantastic young men get to
experience the brand-new fourth floor and undertake the process of
becoming members. The new member's initiation was proudly on February
6th, and we had several Graduate Brothers return to see their sons and
family members become Undergraduate Brothers within the Chapter.
A Busy Spring for FIJI
The Chapter participated in many events, including the annual FIJI Run
for Leukemia with the Kansas State Chapter, and won second place in
the intramural cup for KU. Pi Deuteron also enjoyed being in KU's Rock
Chalk Revue showcase for the first time in seven years. More than 25 Pi
Deuteron men participated in the competition. All of the proceeds went
to charity, making the event one of the largest philanthropies on campus.
Leadership Remains a Priority
The Chapter sent three fantastic leaders, Riley Brown '17, Matt Johnson
'18, and Hunter Maude '18, to FIJI Academy to learn valuable leadership
skills and Phi Gamma Delta values that will better help the Chapter
grow and preform. Pi Deuteron also participated in many KU leadership
programs, such as the KUnity diversity program, Greek Advance officer
leadership program, and multiple other valued programs that helped form
ideas for the future.
Time has flown at the University of Kansas as the spring semester of
2016 is nearly over. Our members continue to dedicate themselves to
the excellence and values instilled in Phi Gamma Delta, and strive to be
gentlemen of quality every day.
Fraternally,
Erich Lanz '17
